well its been a couple days and the school has finally gotten started and is in full swing. We are doing evangelism throughout the week in the form of soup kitchens and feeding breakfast to the needy and working something called "youth street" which is working with kids in areas like sports, skating, dance and stuff such as that. There is also going to be a time for straight evangelism which is going to be very interesting. The weekend was cool, we went to hillsong, that was an....experience? The most interesting thing that has happened is seeing the ways that God has been testing me and trying to understand my purpose on this base. He has really been testing my biblical knowledge and I have had countless conversations/debates about biblical topics. It has been very frustrating but at the same time is cementing me and testing me. I am finding a purpose in instilling a want for biblical knowledge in this base, as opposed to just looking for the newest emotional Jesus high to ride out. This has been causing me to read and study more than I ever have before and I am really encouraging everyone else to do the same. Everyone is extremely cool though, and I am soaking in as much as I can about other cultures. WE FRIED REAL BACON LAST NIGHT WHEN EVERYONE WAS ASLEEP AND MADE BLTS!! IT WAS AMAZING AND IF ANYONE READS THIS AND WANTS TO SEND ME REAL BACON YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND!!!! Oh and David Ramirez, if you read this, I want you to know that my scabs have made for great stories and they are finally starting to go away. I love you. my fave restaraunt is this place called OPORTOs which is too hard to explain. Pray for me in every area, especially strength and wisdom in dealing with trying situations, pray for energy as well, I am exhausted. We do not stop doing stuff from 7am to 8 pm most days. I love you all and miss you all. Also, if anyone could send me any cs lewis books or maybe No Compromise (the story of Keith Green), I would be super happy. FINE, I will tell you all a story I made up before I go. There once was a fish, his name was ronald freagan. Ronald had a problem with flying, as most young fish do. He could not fly as well as he could walk. So he created a boat to fly off the side of a hill. Because this boat was so light, it sank to the bottom and green goo went everywhere. He became frustrated and began to spit on people. After loads of loogies, a dragon sat next to him named dillard millmore. After years of fights, the 2 became friends and the dragon explained that to fly all he needed was the rotten star of grandolite. So ronald fetched the rotten star and put it in his boat and flew. THE END. Goodnight all,
In Christ,
Joe
Haha, that Ronald gets me every time =P
